Well, December is here and we are ending this 2011 year just that quickly! This may be the month when those of you who don’t normally make it your daily routine to apply makeup, will decide to add a little sparkle here and a touch of glam there. For those of us who are addicted to the stuff we call cosmetics, this is the month when we will “go all out” for our holiday parties and events.
I am actually preparing to host a class entitled Holiday Faux Lashes which teaches women how to apply strip and individual lashes for all of their upcoming holiday events.
As I was putting together all of the gift bags and lash kits for my class, I thought about how easy it is for me to get all caught up in the unimportant beauty rituals, classes, applications and all of the holiday hype. That thought caused me to think about the REAL meaning of the Christmas holiday and reflect on the fact that the Father gave me, a beauty connoisseur, and you the ultimate beauty Gift. It’s a multipurpose gift not just used to beautify one specific area of our lives, but all of it.
Think about it this one special gift was given to:
Provide us with eternal life. John 3:16
Be the bridge that connects us to The Father. John 14:6
Offer us a way of escape for the wages of sin. Romans 6:23
That’s just a few of the things that this one gift can and will do, and it’s more than enough for me to say “Lord I thank you for seeing me in my most unattractive state and providing me with a Gift that could make me beautiful from the inside out.”
