Inspirational Ink: Insight for a Woman’s Life

by Tammi Ector Fisse

Recently my work world got rocked. The assistant director at the childcare center where I’m the administrator informed me that she’d accepted another position. Though not surprised, I was stunned when she hit me with the news that the day of her notice and her last day were one in the same. Talk about reeling from shock. I literally broke out in hives. My voice said all of the appropriate things (thanking her for her service, wishing her well and of course, “Yes, yes, I understand, you have to do what’s best for your family”), but my heart and body reacted strongly to the blow. After all, three ADs in as many years? Our childcare center has tilted on this particular axis twice before in my time as director. Read more

The Anointing

by Tanisha Y. Armstrong

“The Anointing” is a popular term among Christians today. Often it is used in reference to someone’s ability to passionately work within the gifts of the Spirit. Unfortunately, the connotations I have encountered indicate that it is exclusive and not available to every Christian. Instead of being encouraged to function within the anointing present in every Christian’s life, we find ourselves admiring how it functions in others. “The Anointing” is the very presence, the essence, the in-dwelling, the reality that God is within each of us. In reality, God’s presence is not any different in any of us. Where we are in our relationship with God and how we function accordingly is what differs. Read more

Steady the Scales

by Mia Green

You are a working woman, a mother, a wife, a sister, a daughter, a minister, and the list can go on and on, and on. With all that you do each and everyday how can you maintain your equilibrium in life? The scales can easily become off balance, but it’s important that you take time for someone who is just as important as your boss, the kids, your husband, your friends & family and even the people of God that you have been chosen to lead. That someone is YOU! Read more

I Surrender All

by Adriana Zamot

Most of us have heard the saying, “Let Go, Let God!” Yet for many of us that seems like such a difficult commission. I must admit, I have struggled with the issue of control. All too often I’ve played the role of a fixer, caretaker and rescuer. I struggled with issues of guilt because of the level of success I’ve experienced through the grace of God and what seemed like unfortunate breaks for my family. Read more

Your Point of Power

by Karin Syren

These things have I spoken to you,
So that in Me you may have peace.
In the world you have tribulation,1
But take courage; I have overcome the world.
John 16:33 NAS

Who among us is immune to stress, the often overwhelming pressure that results from feeling we are powerless in the face of our circumstances, inadequate to face and overcome our surroundings? All our systems go into overdrive in an attempt to ramp up the power and every part of the human organism is involved in the stress reaction. Read more

Fuel-up with “Cross-Bearing” Veggies!

by Laurette Willis, Christian Fitness Expert and Director of PraiseMoves Fitness Ministry

As important as it is to “Let go and let God,” we have our part to play, too. Healthful, nutritious foods are seldom our first choice if we’ve battled with overeating. The flesh often craves foods that are loaded with fats and sugars, but if we load-up on healthier choices first, our body will fuel-up with good nutrition and our taste for highly processed food diminishes. Desperate for His Touch

by Cindi McMenamin – Strengthforthesoul.com

My heart was convicted as I read in Scripture of a woman who was so desperate for God’s healing in her life, she was willing to do anything to just touch Him (Mark 5:24-34).

I had to ask myself, how desperate am I for God’s touch on my life? And do I really long to be whole and complete in every way?

21 Month-old Baby

by Nita Whitaker LaFontaine

There are days that I feel like a toddler— a runabout as they are called in Europe. I am running about and figuring out so many different things in my new world. Even after a little more than 21 months ago when my husband Don LaFontaine passed away, I find myself asking, “How can this be? He was just here.” As I pass a photograph with his smiling eyes looking back at me, it still at time seems unbelievable and new. At other times, it feels like it’s been 10 years since I’ve seen his face. Read more

Set Yourself Free

by Mia Green

When it comes to the world of fashion and beauty there are rules, rules, and more rules! I say throw away most of the rules and create your own set that fit your personality and style. After all, we are women that have been chosen to live our lives based on a different set of moral and spiritual rules anyway (John 15:18-19) so why not apply it to our individual sense of beauty and style.
