Who was she really? Known in Hebrew as Miriam, we have come to know her as Mary the Virgin mother of Jesus. What do we really know about her, straight from the pages of Scripture but that “…She was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit”? (Matthew 1:18, 20, 21 NAS) Read more

THE VELVETEEN REDEEMER
by Tammi Ector Fisse
My children and I love the children’s classic, The Velveteen Rabbit or How Toys Become Real by Margery Williams. Though it was written nearly a century ago, its nursery magic still has the power to spellbind the hearts of 21st century readers, young and old, whether they’re experiencing it for the first time or the book is a dear friend visited countless times over the years. The last time we read it, my son had just hurt my feelings. I read as tears streamed from my “mommy eyes”. I could relate to how painful the process of becoming Real can be. Read more

When we say, “The Lord is my shepherd,” we are saying “The Lord is the one who feeds me.” Read more
WOGA: Human Trafficking
by Cathy Schmidt
Nearly 100 women crowded into a small meeting room in Colorado Springs. I was ready to hear from Women of Global Action’s (WOGA) global leaders – women from Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East who had given up careers, security, safety, and even family to share Jesus’ love with hurting women in their countries. My hope was to find a ministry by and for women with which to become involved, and I was not disappointed. Read more
Read more
