Inspirational Ink: Insight for a Woman’s Life

Recently my work world got rocked. The assistant director at the childcare center where I’m the administrator informed me that she’d accepted another position. Though not surprised, I was stunned when she hit me with the news that the day of her notice and her last day were one in the same. Talk about reeling from shock. I literally broke out in hives. My voice said all of the appropriate things (thanking her for her service, wishing her well and of course, “Yes, yes, I understand, you have to do what’s best for your family”), but my heart and body reacted strongly to the blow. After all, three ADs in as many years? Our childcare center has tilted on this particular axis twice before in my time as director.
