This is the time of year when we see the evidence of harvest everywhere we look. Fields of corn have been harvested and corn stalks adorn many a mailbox. Great fat pumpkins are perched on hay bales in front yards and on front porches. Families take weekend treks out of the city and suburbs to carry home bushels of autumn goodness from local apple orchards.
